Railway Construction, Operation and Maintenance
From its starting base in Hong Kong, the Corporation has expanded into Mainland China and taken on a range of railway-related projects and operations internationally. In Mainland China, the Corporation operates Beijing Metro Line 4, Daxing Line, Line 14, Line 16 and Line 17, Shenzhen Metro Line 4, and Hangzhou Metro Line 1 and Line 5 project. The Corporation also operates and manages Melbourne's Metropolitan Rail Service in Australia, Stockholm Metro (Stockholms tunnelbana) in Sweden, Elizabeth line and South Western Railway in UK. Northwest Rapid Transit Consortium (NRT), of which the Corporation is a shareholder and delivery partner, participated in the delivery of the Sydney Metro North West Line and the CBD extension (Sydney Metro City & Southwest) under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) contract. Metro Trains Sydney Pty. Limited, a majority-owned subsidiary of the MTR Corporation is responsible for operations and maintenance.
