MTR Corporation Limited invites qualified companies to express their interest in tendering for the provision of Internet of Things (IoT) and telemetry infrastructure for stations and track areas in Airport Express Line, Disney Resort Line, Island Line, Kwun Tong Line, South Island Line, Tung Chung Line, Tseung Kwan O Line, Tsuen Wan Line, East Rail Line, West Rail Line and Tuen Ma Line Phase 1.
The infrastructure is to provide IoT coverage using Long Range (LoRa) technology to stations and track areas in the above 11 railway lines. The infrastructure will be ready for receiving signals from external LoRa sensors from interfacing parties to be installed in the future. The infrastructure shall include functions of data collection from sensors, data processing of sensor data received and data storage. As an output of the infrastructure, an interface protocol shall be available for the data exchange to interfacing parties.
The infrastructure shall support future IoT sensing devices to be installed in stations and track areas with defined standard and protocol. Data shall be transmitted via existing leaky cables or antennas. Existing 900-MHz band blocking radio equipment shall be replaced. Additional Point of Interface shall be installed. IoT gateway shall be installed for the insertion of the frequency band of LoRa. Servers and workstations shall be installed in Operations Control Centre for data processing, data storage and system health monitoring. Data between IoT gateway and servers shall be transmitted through Corporate Data Network.
The scope of the Works including the design, manufacture, supply, delivery, installation, decommissioning of existing equipment, testing and commissioning, documentation, training, maintenance services, and rectification of defects and product support during the Defects Liability Period of the IoT and telemetry infrastructure.
The prequalification process for the tender will take place in July and August 2020 and tenders will be invited in September 2020.
