MTR Corporation Limited invites qualified contractors to express their interest in tendering for the following Contracts:
Contract C7711-21E - Replacement of UPS, Batteries and Chargers
The replacement works include the replacement of the existing UPS, batteries and chargers at the Urban Lines (URL) (comprising Island Line, Kwun Tong Line, South Island Line, Tseung Kwan O Line and Tsuen Wan Line), East Rail Line (EAL), Airport Express Line, Tung Chung Line & Disneyland Resort Line (AT&D), Light Rail (LRL) and Tuen Ma Line (TML). The scope of works includes the design, supply, delivery, decommissioning, removal, replacement, modification, relocation, installation, testing and commissioning and defects rectification during Defects Liability Period of approximately 4 Nos. 1-phase UPS, 96 Nos. 3-phase UPS, 22,000 Nos. UPS batteries, 52 Nos. battery chargers and 4,200 Nos. charger batteries. The replacement works are scheduled to commence in 2022 with completion in 2025. The packages that may be included in the Contract are shown the table below.

The tender for Package B will be conducted in conjunction with Contract M1236-21E. Tenderers interested in the tender for Package B must also submit the tender for Contract M1236-21E.
Contract M1236-21E - Maintenance Services for UPS and Batteries
The maintenance services include the comprehensive corrective and preventive maintenance for the UPS (approximately 47 Nos.) and batteries (approximately 22,000 Nos.) replaced under Package B of Contract C7711-21E, plus approximately 375 Nos. existing UPS. The scope of maintenance services includes on-call fault handling services and equipment repair or replacement. The maintenance services will be for 8 years overall, but for 4 years for each batch of UPS and batteries replaced under Package B of Contract C7711-21E. Depending on the date each batch of UPS and batteries are replaced, the maintenance services are scheduled to commence progressively, with the first batch scheduled to commence in 2022 and completed in 2025, and the last batch scheduled to commence in 2026 and completed in 2029. Tenderers interested in Contract M1236-21E, must also submit the tender for Package B of Contract C7711-21E.
The prequalification process for the tender will take place in June 2021 and tenders will be invited in September 2021. The Contract is scheduled to be awarded in January 2022.
In order to be considered for prequalification, interested parties having relevant resources, qualifications and experience are requested to express their interest on or before 11 June 2021 via the MTR Corporation Limited’s E-Tendering System.
Following expression of interest, applicants will after the above deadline receive an invitation of prequalification via the E-Tendering System. Applicants shall complete and submit all information and details by the deadline stated in the invitation via the E-Tendering System.
