MTR Corporation Limited invites qualified contractors to express their interest in tendering for Contract K3312-20C: LR Rail Replacement Works.
The scope of the Works shall include the following for Light Rail (LR):
1) Replacement of 20 numbers of diamond crossovers in Light Rail in embedded (3 no.) and ballasted track (17 no.). The rail replacement works shall include replacement of turnouts and other plain line track. As the LR is an operating railway, the works are expected to be carried out with a combination of working during Traffic Hours with closure of certain LR tracks and road surface, and working in Non-Traffic Hours (NTH) at some critical LR traffic junctions. The scope of the Works shall also include the obtaining of all necessary licenses and permits, including application of Construction Noise Permit (CNP) and Temporary Traffic Management (TTM). The Contractor shall be responsible to implement the temporary traffic management (TTM).
2) The Contractor shall provide all the resources for the Works including design, supervision, labour, material, plant and equipment, except plain rail and diamond crossings to be provided by the Corporation. Equipment and plant of quiet models (e.g. Quality Powered Mechanical Equipment (QPME)), noise abatement materials such as means of silencers, mufflers, acoustic linings or shields, acoustic sheds or screens of sufficient height or other means to mitigate construction noise in compliance with the Noise Control Ordinance are required.
The scope of the Works shall also include the obtaining of all necessary licenses and permits in accordance with the Waste Disposal Ordinance.
The duration of the Works will be approximately 3 years to be commenced by September 2021 tentatively.
The prequalification process for the tender will take place in January 2021 and tenders will be invited in June 2021.
