Artist's Concept:
The design concept of the sculpture "Climbing Up" came from reading. In my mind, reading is a way to learn from others' experience, enrich our own lives with their wisdom, and consequently progress in life. The figurines in the scripture symbolise climbing up, signifying that one can improve through reading and continuous learning. Climbing displays a steadfast vitality, to climb past the challenges towards our ultimate goal. Like others, I learnt to crawl as part of the growing process. Some may not face up to the challenges and give up half way, but persistence is the key to success.
