A unique collection of artwork casts light on the ever-growing importance of recycling and energy conservation in "The Art of Light" exhibition, the latest arttube exhibition at MTR Central Station (Entrance/Exit J) which opened today (11 May 2010).
Organised by the Hong Kong Society for Education in Art, the exhibition features creative and colourful light installations created by primary school, secondary school and college students. Renowned local artists Mr Chester Chu, Ms Jaffa Lam, Ms Pauline Lam, Ms Sara Tse and Mr Coleman Wai added flair to the exhibition with their own energy-saving lamp designs made out of reusable materials.
Dr Lai Ming-hoi, former President of the Hong Kong Society for Education in Art and Project Leader of "The Art of Light", hopes to promote energy conservation in the territory through the use of visual arts. "'The Art of Light' initiative aims to promote a green lifestyle and energy saving practices throughout society as the artists have united on this project with the common goal of building a more sustainable Hong Kong," explained Dr Lai.
MTR passengers are invited to visit "The Art of Light" exhibition at the arttube and are encouraged to show their support for energy conservation and environmental protection.
