Through art, one can express the feelings and emotions they experience at a certain moment in time. To seize the moment, the Hong Kong PHAB* Association invited 25 young persons with disabilities to create imaginative ceramic art pieces to express their feelings of love. The works are on show in the latest "art in mtr - roving art" exhibition entitled "We Love! We Care! We Share!" which opened today (3 June 2010) at MTR Sai Wan Ho Station. It will be on display there until 28 June, after which the artwork will be moved to MTR Yau Tong Station to be displayed from 1 to 26 July 2010.
Beside Hong Kong PHAB Association, other participating organisations include the Hong Kong Parents Association for Visually Impaired Children, Hong Kong Neuro-muscular Disease Association and the Parents' Association of Pre-school Handicapped Children.
"The artwork are beautiful and demonstrate the young people's creative interpretation of the meaning of love," said Mr Daniel Tsang, Centre Supervisor of the Hong Kong Island PHAB Centre. "With the strong support of their parents, the project has helped these youngsters to build self confidence in spite of the challenges they face and to share their joy with loved ones."
"This exhibition not only promotes the message of caring for one's own family and those in the community, but it proves that everyone has an artistic streak waiting to be unveiled," said Mrs Miranda Leung, General Manager - Corporate Relations of the MTR Corporation. "This group of disabled children and young people have created artwork they can be proud of, and they should be delighted at the enjoyment that they are bringing to our passengers."
