The works of some of Hong Kong's most talented up-and-coming artists will be on display at two MTR stations in the latest "art in mtr - roving art" exhibition entitled "Best Emerging Talents in Hong Kong". The exhibition features 16 winning paintings and digital photographs from the Secondary School and Open categories of an art competition organised by the Young Achievers' Gallery. The exhibition is being held at MTR Kowloon Tong Station from today (29 July) to 23 August and then at MTR Tin Hau Station from 26 August to 13 September 2010.
The winning artworks on display use different media such as posters, crayons, water colours and digital photography.
"Hong Kong is blessed with some incredible artistic talent, and this is a great opportunity to bring their work to the millions of people who travel on the MTR each day," said Mr Chan Pui-tin, Chief Curriculum Development Officer (Gifted Education) of the Education Bureau, which established the Young Achievers' Gallery to promote and showcase talent in Hong Kong.
Mrs Miranda Leung, General Manager - Corporate Relations of the MTR Corporation said the exhibition sends a powerful message to young people. "If you work hard and cultivate your talent, you will be noticed and you will be rewarded," she said. "It also encourages parents to look for and develop their children's talents to build the next generation of young achievers."
