MTR Corporation joined hands with People On Board Social Enterprise to produce and launch the "MTR Safety and Courtesy Board Game" in 2015. The educational board game was distributed for free to all local primary schools to help children learn about railway safety and good passenger behaviour.
To further enhance education on safe and courteous behaviours on the MTR, the Corporation and People On Board Social Enterprise have launched the MTR Safety Experience Zone on U2 level at Tsing Yi Station in March 2018 based on the inspiration from the board game.
Interactive areas at the MTR Safety Experience Zone
The "MTR Safety Journey" giant board game decoration: understand the importance of railway safety and courtesy through interacting with various MTR facilities.
The escalator safety story wall: Tao Tao the Chicken and Ming Ming the Rabbit tell their story of learning how to use escalators safely.
The 3D photo zone: Remind visitors to hold the handrail and stand firm when using escalators.
The "Safe and Courteous Platform": Tao Tao the Chicken shows what passengers should not do on platforms.
"Travel Safely on Train" sharing session: a safety talk to learn which dangerous goods are prohibited on railway premises.
