On 1 July 2024, children can enjoy free travel with Child Octopus on the Heavy Rail *, including Airport Express and journeys to and from Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations. All passengers can also enjoy free rides on Light Rail and MTR Bus services running in the Northwest New Territories#. Passengers do not need to tap their Octopus cards when entering or exiting Light Rail stops or boarding MTR buses^.
*Children can travel for free with Child Octopus on the Heavy Rail network and Airport Express journeys from town stations (Hong Kong, Kowloon or Tsing Yi Station) to Airport Station or vice versa. Except for High Speed Rail, First Class Premium on East Rail Line. QR Code Ticket, Single Journey Ticket and Contactless Bank Card (Credit Card or Debit Card) are excluded.
#MTR Feeder Bus along the East Rail Line is excluded.
^The interchange discount for Light Rail and MTR Bus will not be applicable on that day.
