After picking up some souvenirs, don’t forget to capture unforgettable memories in the classical Chinese gardens and several other photo spots!
The world-famous Big Buddha is the tallest outdoor bronze casted Buddha in the world and only a 10-minute walk from Ngong Ping Village. You can take a glance of the Buddha's solemn image. Don’t know where to go after the pilgrimage to the Big Buddha? You may treat yourself to a vegetarian lunch at the dining hall in Po Lin Monastery located nearby and enjoy a good rest.
Tips: Afraid of not getting a table or planning to dine with a group of friends? It is best to arrive Vegetarian Kitchen a bit earlier so that you don’t starve yourself too much before digging in your meal!
After lunch, why don’t you go for a little walk with about 10 minutes to reach the Wisdom Path! Located at the foot of Lantau Peak, it is inscribed with the calligraphy of the Heart Sutra written by master Sinologist Professor Jao Tsung-I. It is majestically displayed as it is surrounded by the peaceful and magnificent mountain view. The 38 columns throughout the trail are arranged in an infinite symbol "∞" following the terrain of the mountain that represents endlessness.
【5th stop: Going back】
After a fun day up on the mountain, it’s time to take the cable car back to the "ground". Don’t forget to take your ride home with JoyYou Card $2 concessionary fare to put a perfect end to the one day trip!
Tips: Before returning, remember to check when the next train will arrive on MTR Mobile’s "Next Train" function, so you don’t have to wait in the platform in advance and have a more comfortable journey back!
