One of the most popular maple leaves viewing spots on Hong Kong Island, the “maple leaves tunnel” is a short trail surrounded by tall maple trees next to the garden’s water fountain, with red leaves blooming in autumn months. These tall and strong maple trees have a very long history that are definitely worth viewing. With its easy accessibility and a spacious area for picnics, this is the perfect spot for kids and families to enjoy a lovely afternoon. The garden is also the house of siamangs, meerkats and many other precious wild animals.

The trail from Fanling’s Luk Keng to Kuk Po is a beginner’s route with only flat pavement – perfect for an autumn outing. The field, however, is located on mud far from the road that you are advised to view from a distance without disturbing the nearby villagers. If you come on the weekends, don’t forget to try the tofu puddings and glutinous rice cakes at the entrance of Kuk Po Tsuen to accompany the spectacular view.
