WHAT's NEW

28.7.2024 (Sunday) Train Service Suspension
between Prince Edward and Ho Man Tin

We are committed to continuously upgrading our infrastructure to ensure safe railway service is provided at all times. In the coming years, we will invest over HK$65 billion in large-scale upgrades and maintenance to ensure our railway is kept in good condition. However, during these upgrades, train service may need to be adjusted for some of the more complex work.

On Sunday 28 July, we will carry out large-scale asset renewal work in the Kwun Tong Line tunnel. To enable this work, train service between Prince Edward and Ho Man Tin stations on the Kwun Tong Line will be suspended. You can travel to Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei stations taking the Tsuen Wan Line from Prince Edward Station. You can also access Ho Man Tin Station by taking the Tuen Ma Line. Tsuen Wan Line and other lines will operate as usual. However, there may be more passengers in Prince Edward Station, please use other alternative routes.

Train Service Arrangements on 28 July:

Line Journey Service
Kwun Tong Line Tiu Keng Leng <-> Prince Edward Normal Service
Prince Edward <-> Ho Man Tin Service Suspended
Ho Man Tin <-> Whampoa Normal Service
Tsuen Wan Line & Other lines - - Normal Service

Please plan your journey ahead and use “Trip Planner” function on MTR Mobile to look for alternative routes.

We aim to provide a more reliable railway service once the project is completed. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Alternative MTR Routes

You can take various alternative routes to travel to affected areas:

To/From Ho Man Tin and Whampoa
To/From Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei

*You will need to pay for two separate journeys if using a Single Journey Ticket, QR code or VISA Contactless Bank Card to interchange between Tsim Sha Tsui and East Tsim Sha Tsui stations

Travel Tips

  1. There may be more passengers in Prince Edward Station, please use the Tung Chung Line, East Rail Line, or Tseung Kwan O Line as alternative cross harbour options.
  2. When interchanging from the Kwun Tong Line to the Tsuen Wan Line (towards Central) in Prince Edward Station, only stairs are available to access Platform 4. Please seek staff assistance if needed.
  3. It may take longer to access the lift at Prince Edward Station. Please give priority to anyone in need. Passengers who need to use the lifts for interchange are advised to use alternative routes.
  4. There may be changes to the destinations of some trains.
  5. Due to works arrangement, Exit C at Yau Ma Tei Station will be temporarily closed. Please use other exits.
  6. If your journey differs from your usual route, please allow extra time (approximately 20-30 minutes) to ensure a smooth interchange for the last train.
