MTR will be launching a new collection of mugs in collaboration with Chibi Maruko Chan on 16 July 2022. The mugs aim to bring back fond childhood memories to the Hong Kong people. Each mug in this series is designed to feature popular characters of Maruko, Tomozo, and Noguchi San, and with different playground classics on the lid of each mug. These mugs will not only make you reminisce about your childhood memories, but also encourage you to feel like a child at heart again!
Each mug set includes a mug featuring a classic popular cartoon character as its design, a playground-themed lid and a PVC coaster. At the price of HK$120, each set has its own unique characteristics and functions in daily life. The stainless steel mug set has Maruko and Tomozo, with a seesaw lid to let you sit back and play, just like the old childhood. The enamel mug set features main character Maruko as its design, with a merry-go-round lid that can spin to heart’s content. Last but not least, the ceramic mug set featuring Noguchi San has a classic swing lid that swings freely to let you relive the magical times of childhood.
Over the years, the MTR has provided passengers with safe, reliable and efficient transportation services, becoming an indispensable means of transportation for the public. Similarly, childhood nostalgia is indispensable, and these products stand testament to this. They have been carefully selected to let you rewind back to your childhood, and so that all Hong Kong citizens can collectively savour feeling like a child at heart again everyday!
The mug sets will go on public sale at designated MTR Customer Service Centres on the following dates:
