MTR will be launching new souvenirs themed on iconic station facilities on 11 December 2021. Comprising a range of stationery, the collection includes 4 double-sided designs, each of which presents a station facility from two different eras. These “time-traversing” mini-station facilities will not only make playful and practical office supplies, but they will also accompany you in many a nostalgic reverie.
A clever double-sided concept runs through the collection, while each design has its own unique characteristics and functions. For instance, the “Ticket Machine – Memo Pad and Eraser Dispenser” is a combination of the first-generation machine selling magnetic tickets and the “3-in-1” ticket machine we see today. Meanwhile, the “Entry/Exit Gate – Tape Dispenser and Stapler” features the classic tripod turnstile and the current flap barrier gate. As fun as it is useful, the collection is a must-have for the desk.
In addition to the 4 double-sided stationery sets is the “Automatic Platform Gate – Wireless Charger with Mini White Board”. Simply place your phone in the gate to charge it. The action will also open the gate automatically, allowing you to check new messages while your phone is charging. The “advertising panel” on the gate is also a handy tool to jot down notes and ideas.
For over 40 years, MTR has been actively upgrading its station facilities with new technology to elevate the passenger experience and promote smart mobility. The 5 souvenirs which juxtapose station facilities from different eras, are just like mini-monuments that stand testament to the evolution of MTR and to our collective memory.
The souvenirs will go on public sale at various Customer Service Centres2 on the following dates:
