The Scheme covers all fares of MTR trips paid by Octopus (including Light Rail and MTR buses), as well as the fares of Monthly Pass Extra, MTR City Saver, Tuen Mun - Nam Cheong Day Pass, Airport Express Round Trip Ticket, Airport Express Group Ticket.
For MTR City Saver, Tuen Mun - Nam Cheong Day Pass, Airport Express Round Trip Ticket and Airport Express Group Ticket, passengers are required to go through a simple registration with the relevant tickets, the Octopus and sales receipts issued from Airport Express Customer Service Centre (only applicable to Airport Express Round Trip Ticket and Airport Express Group Ticket) at the "Designated Transport Ticket Self-registration Point" within 30 days from the date of purchase to link up relevant expenses with Octopus record for calculation of total public transport expenses and subsidy amount under the Scheme.
The Scheme does not cover Single Journey Tickets purchased by Octopus, MTR fares paid by Temporary Octopus and the fare of Airport Express Round Trip Ticket purchased from travel agents or travel websites.
All temporary Octopus, for example, Temporary Student Octopus, Airport Express Travel Pass etc. are not applicable for the Scheme.
Except at Racecourse Station, all the "Designated Transport Ticket Self-registration Point" / "Subsidy Collection Point" are located outside the paid area. The "Subsidy Collection Point" is installed in every MTR station while the "Designated Transport Ticket Self-registration Point" is located in designated MTR stations only. Each MTR ticket covered by the Scheme can be registered once only. If there is more than one registration, only the first registration will be counted.
Under all circumstances, the registered MTR tickets cannot be refunded.
Each single ticket under the Airport Express Group Ticket is required to be registered separately. Depending on the actual situation, passengers can register the tickets with the same or different Octopus.

Since the registered MTR ticket has been paid, it will still be taken into account for calculation of subsidy regardless of whether the ticket has been used or not.
The total price of the ticket would be counted during the registration. Therefore, it will not affect the subsidy amount if the passenger has not used up the maximum value of the ticket.
