"China T-Union Card" is an integrated card for taking public transport across multiple Mainland cities, with a “China T-Union” logo marked on the card.
Starting from 22nd March, 2025, passengers holding a valid "China T-Union Card" can travel on the MTR* by tapping their card to the “Octopus Reader” on designated gates axed with a "China T-Union" logo sticker, making their journeys in Hong Kong more convenient.
*Not available at Airport Express, Light Rail, MTR Bus, MTR Feeder Bus and East Rail Line First Class
The fare of "China T-Union Card" issued in other cities is equivalent to an Adult Octopus. The fare will be settled in Hong Kong dollar (HKD) at a real-time exchange rate against Renminbi (RMB)#. When exiting the gate, the screen of the gate will only display the fare deducted for the trip in HKD.
Generally, fare discounts provided in other cities, all fare concessions by MTR and the Government’s Public Transport Fare Subsidy Scheme are not applicable. In addition, "China T-Union Card" cannot be used to pay for First Class travel on the East Rail Line. Click here to learn more about travelling the First Class.

^Passengers holding a "China T-Union Card" with Octopus functions should use it in the same way as regular Octopus, including being able to enjoy related fare concessions (if applicable) and ride on the East Rail Line First Class after successful validation.
#The exchange rate is updated by Octopus Cards Limited and is for reference only. The actual rate will be determined by the exchange rate stored in Octopus reader at the time of transaction. Please click here to visit Octopus website for more details.
