Graduate Engineer Programme
The Graduate Engineer (GE) Programme is an HKIE accredited Scheme 'A' training programme leading to Chartership. It is a comprehensive and forward looking programme which provides participants with multi-disciplinary exposure in the engineering profession.
As a growing multinational company, MTR offers unique opportunities in major asset replacement projects, new railway lines openings, overseas assignments and researches / applications on advanced technology, which help shape the next generation rail. Customised development activities such as people and work management skills training and mentorship of senior managers are also provided.
We are looking for:
Final year students or recent graduates with Degree accredited by HKIE in disciplines of Civil / Building Services / Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical Engineering and Control, Automation & Instrumentation and Information Engineering who possess excellent academic achievements and the following qualities:
- High development and leadership potential
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Innovative and proactive mindset with strong teamwork
- Proficiency in programming languages
- Keen interest and strong capabilities in the latest technological developments such as:
- - Data Science;
- - Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology;
- - Digitalisation transformation;
- - Application of Internet of Things or 5G mobile technology;
- - Application of Big Data for optimisation or predictive improvements
- Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
- Dedication to a career in railway design, project management and delivery, operations and maintenance
Career Path
Accelerated 3-year Programme
Upon completion of Graduate Engineer programme, you will take up senior supervisory roles (e.g. Support Engineer / Construction Support Engineer etc.) in respective functions to develop and strengthen your expertise.

1. How many graduates does MTR recruit each year?
The number of intakes each year varies according to our business needs and the candidates' fit to our selection criteria.

2. Do you hire graduates with some work experience?
Yes, in addition to fresh graduates, we also welcome recent graduates with not more than 3 years' work experience meeting our selection criteria to join us.

3. If I was unsuccessful in my application in previous year, can I re-apply?
If your application was unsuccessful and you would like to apply again, you are welcome to do so the following year. However, you can submit only one application each year.

4. Can I submit my application through email or other channels?
To ensure fairness and consistency in screening and selection, you must submit your application via our online application system opened from 10 November to 30 November 2024 (23:59 HKT). Application by other methods will not be considered.

5. How long will it take to receive a response after I submit my application?
We consider your application carefully in light of the job requirements. Shortlisted candidates may normally be invited to complete assessment / interview by email in 4-8 weeks. Please check your inbox periodically for assessment / interview invitation with subject regarding "MTR Graduate Recruitment" and review your email account settings to ensure these email messages will not be blocked automatically.
